Kibbutz Nirim, located in the Western Negev, under the jurisdiction of the Eshkol Regional Council, was founded in 1946 by a core of Hashomer HaTzair pioneers. Over the years, various groups from Israel and abroad have joined our community.
The main source of Nirim's livelihood is agriculture, and the kibbutz is one of the largest and most prosperous organic farms in the State of Israel. Today, approximately 500 people reside on Nirim, of which about 230 are members, another 130 children and 50 residents who live there and enjoy a rich community life and a green and flourishing environment.
All of this was true until the Saturday of Simchat Torah 7.10.2023 at 6:30 in the morning, when the world we knew, imploded upon itself, and our lives were changed forever.
The kibbutz was attacked by missile barrages and terrorists invaded the kibbutz, entering the houses, murdering, looting and kidnapping our people.
The community is still strong, functioning and bracing ourselves for a long rehabilitation in many aspects: From the restoration of buildings and infrastructure through personal, community, economic restoration and more.
At the moment the kibbutz has been declared a closed military zone, and our members are at the King Solomon Hotel in Eilat, and with families and friends throughout the country. Our expected return home is unknown.
At the same time, we are determined to return home and return the state of our kibbutz to the warm, vibrant home in a blooming desert garden that it was until that fateful Saturday
However for this to be able to come to fruition, we need your help. If you wish to play a part in making this dream come true, we invite you to click on the attached donation link, where any amount will help and be welcomed.
We thank you in advance and much appreciated,
The People of Kibbutz Nirim
